Install Omitly on macOS

Updated 24 Aug 2026 · Applies to Omitly 1.4+ · macOS

On this page

Omitly for macOS installs like any other Mac application — download it, drag it in, and open it. No account, and nothing to configure before you start. There are two Mac builds, Apple silicon and Intel; pick the one matching your machine (Apple menu → About This Mac shows which chip you have). See System requirements for the details.

Download and install

  1. Download the latest Omitly for macOS from your purchase email or from the downloads page, choosing the build that matches your chip — Apple silicon or Intel.
  2. Open the downloaded file and move Omitly into your Applications folder.
  3. Open Omitly from Applications. Because the app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, it opens without a security warning.

Both Mac builds are signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, and that signature is checked before the app will open — so a truncated or tampered download cannot install silently.

Before you buy a licence

A fresh install runs as a full-featured 14-day trial — every feature works, including redaction, verification and the certificate, so you can evaluate it on real documents before licensing anything. Nothing is uploaded during the trial; Omitly works the same whether or not it’s licensed.

When you’re ready, your licence key arrives by email after purchase and is entered in the app under Omitly → More ▾ → About Omitly → Import licence file….

Updating

Omitly can check for its own updates and prompts you when a new version is available. Updates are signed, and you choose when to install them.
